“Musical Theatre II Workshop”

Starting on April 24, 2021!

Designed for students with moderate theater experience, this program will help you take the next steps in your theatre training. This 4-week workshop will encompass vocal work, dance technique and stage acting culminating in a final showcase presentation for family and friends. It includes repertoire from classic and contemporary musical theatre, with opportunities for solo, duet, and ensemble performances.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

  • Voice Training:

    • Improving Breathe Control, Vocal Tone, Range, Hitting Notes, Projection, etc.

    • Effectively Preparing & Maintaining Vocal Health for Vocal Auditions, Rigorous Show Rehearsals, & Stage Performances

  • Theater Dance Training:

    • Learning Basic Ballet, Jazz, & Tap dance Terminology and Class Etiquette required for most Musical Theater Auditions, Rehearsals, & Productions

    • Developing, Improving & Maintaining Dance-related Endurance, Strength, Flexibility, Musicality, and Coordination


Course Length: 4 Weeks, with a final showcase performance after workshop completion

Course Dates: Starting on Saturday, April 24, 2021 and ending on May 15, 2021. Every Saturday from 11AM - 1PM. Final Showcase Presentation on May 22, 2021.

Location: BLUE RIDGE COMMUNITY THEATER - 2591 East 1st Street, Blue Ridge, Georgia 30513

Course Cost: $100 per student

Age Requirements: 16 years and older

Registration Deadline: April 22, 2021


WORKSHOP REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

To register, individuals will need to submit the On-line Workshop Registration Form along with their $100 registration fee. Payments can be made on-line with a credit/debit card or with check or cash in person on the first day of class.


This workshop is STRONGLY recommended for those interested in auditioning for the following upcoming musicals scheduled for the 2021 and 2022 at BRCT:

GEORGIA K-12 CERTIFICATION IN MUSIC EDUCATION AND SPECIAL EDUCATION, MS. BRADFORD HAS OVER 18 YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE IN THE ATLANTA METRO SCHOOL SYSTEMS.

HER EXPERIENCE INCLUDES DIRECTORSHIP IN CHORAL, INSTRUMENTAL, AND MUSICAL THEATER AND HAS RECEIVED MULTIPLE GEORGIA GOVERNOR’S AWARDS FOR OUTSTANDING STUDENT PERFORMANCES AT THE GOVERNOR’S MANSION.

HER DEDICATION IN THE FINE ARTS HAS RESULTED IN HER STUDENTS PARTICIPATION IN:

Venae Sears-Ellis

Owner & Artistic Director of kharisma dance studio, professional dance choreographer, singer, & actress. Ms. Sears-Ellis has over 25 years of experience sharing the joy of dance and the performing arts to students of all ages and providing choreography to community theaters, churches, competitive dance competitions, music artists & dance fitness programs. She is also a professional singer and lead vocalist with “Kharisma Jazzmatic Funk” a 10-piece jazz & R&B soul Band. Ms. Sears-ellis is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor with additional certifications in Zumba, Yoga, Yo-chi (yoga/tai-chi), and SilverSneakers.
